About
I was always interested in photography and from a young age meddled in darkrooms, after leaving school in London and in Surrey, I decided to take the unlikely step of studying politics(another great interest) at Leeds University. I continued with the photography there and after leaving decided to try applying my photographic skills to the world of documentaries. I was pretty naive, and believed that this would all happen quickly, luckily I met some experienced cameramen that took me under their wings and I spent 5 years as an assistant cameraman. During this time I worked on a wide variety of documentaries, dramas and commercials, using everything from film to video. As I started to find my feet as a cameraman I have continued to work on a huge variety of projects and have enjoyed the challenge of telling a story, while making the images look good. I strongly believe that however mundane the location maybe, there is a way of bring some beauty and intelligence to the stories that we try to tell. I have travelled extensive throughout the world, in such places as the USA, South America, Africa, the Middle East including several trips to Iraq, East and South East Asia. All in all its been a great career and I look forward to what ever that next phone call may bring.
